About this deal

I was told via a forum that my modchip fitting had disabled the Component (hence my post above) - I'm not too sure now though because my leads were also cheapy, 3rd party ones from Whitedog?

I was thinking about upgrading my TV to a large screen plasma or LCD with a view to improving my PS2 experience, maybe I am wasting my time, and I would only see an improvement if I had a PS3 or an X-Box ? Connect your SNES console to the YPbPr Component video inputs on your TV or other equipment with HD RETROVISION SNES component video cables! Extron Rxi boxes will automatically convert RGsB to either RGBs or RGBHV, without any intervention at all. In most cases, you’d just add this as the last piece of equipment before your display. This can be pretty complicated and confusing, so I’d suggest this as an expert option. The old PS2 DOES NOT support Progressive Scan - neither does PAL X-boxes or PAL Gamecubes Progressive Scan is an NTSC standard and not PAL. The last fat PS2s and the slim ones do support Progressive Scan but only a few of the games, Tekken 4 (not 5) for example. The existing 2X-Pro is still our flagship product while the 2X-M is an addition to our line up to fill the specific 480p gap.

Hi just been following this thread, i am currentley using a ps2 component cable with my Samsung Lcd and like you have said a lot of jaggies on the screen. Does a Svideo lead really make that much difference. Once again, this isn’t recommended unless you absolutely need it…but here’s more information: http://www.dansprojects.com/ps2sync.html Some 480p capable RGB monitors can accept a RGsB signal, simply by toggling the external sync button off when RGsB is enabled. Many (if not all) Sony monitors that support 480p have this option.Made with optimal-fitting RCA connectors without a death-grip and which also don't slip out too easily

I bought component cable (original Sony) and the picture is better than RGB. Progressive scan is available both with games and DVDs. DVDs in prog. scan mode look great, but games are not as good. The text in games is not sharp and there some other defects during game play.Hi guys, I have exactly the same problem and came to this forum hoping someone might have an answer and low and behold there is a thread on the very problem. Good forum this.
